The story of my team.

After the competition from Shanghai, we were a little demoralised by the results we were getting. The ranking about the competition was not important at all, but it is our performance, not of us have one performance that can be considered presentable.

We saw our own video and we were surprised that we were very very lousy compared to the other skaters. In the inline slalom community, there are 3 big countries.
KOREA, CHINA, FRANCE. These 3 countries are the first 3 to start slalom. France being the first, followed by KOREA then China. Korea is leading at that point of time, with kim sung jing being the world champion, China came in second, with 2 prodigy, GUO FANG and WANG HENG. Both only barely above 13, while getting the top few respectable placing. Then we come to france, the well known SEBA, the first few in the world to slalom with one wheel.

To win the battle, one must always know our opponent well. The KOREANS are the style setters for the whole slalom community, their style were considered best amoung all the countries, with China catching up, mostly copying moves from the koreans, the add in disgusting level of difficult tricks, which made them horrifying foe in the competition for the koreans. French on the other are more traditional, stick to most old tricks, and doing mostly very difficult moves. Each country have different ways to train, however, i have to admit that we the Singapore Team Micro, have the most special way to train.

Back in Singapore, the year 2006 was the year we decided that to catch up with the other countries, the first thing we must learn is to have a strong determination. With our loving captain feeding us on ways to train, and to grind our determination, our team became fearful to other skating teams in Singapore. It was once heard that because of us we caused many people to quit slalom because of our skills, which strike fear to anyone with a dream to get top in Singapore. Little will they know that our first competition in Singapore would cause a devasting effect in upcoming competitions.

The year is 2006, after our months of training, it was finally our first test. The first test was the national competition. When the best in Singapore would compete against each other. This challenges us even further, with our Grand Master John, in the competition. Imagine a fight with one who teaches you. But he stopped slalom for a moment, due to serving NS.

The competition was easy up to the finals, the results were clear. With me, clarence, benjamine, john in it. Everyone was there to strike the gold, but it would be a great challenge for me and clarence, Benjamine was 2005 slalomania champion, which i score last, whereas clarence have no national competition experience at all.

The result came with a surprising result of me getting first, second clarence, third john, and benjamine 4th.

Slalomania 2006 also included speed slalom and slide, speed slalom had clarence being first, aaron getting second and bradon foo 3rd. Slide was impressive and apart from inline culture, we see potential skaters, Jireh Goh and Ernest<<< the guy we knew. Though they never get top, they were performing very very well.

And thus the slide team was formed, a decision made by shirley, our Micro manager, the slide team is very large, consist of almost over 10 people, the history of them i am not clear, but with them in the slide team, Micro became the domanating team in singapore, with slide and slalom, anyone in the freestyle inline community would know us...
